After optioning a book on the subject, Paul conducted extensive research and interviews, uncovering a deeper narrative: the killer believed his cellmate was Jesus Christ and confessed his crimes to him. This discovery led Paul to develop a documentary series. The project eventually landed with Michael Bay, who connected deeply with the story.
After a successful pitch to Discovery executives, the series received their highest-ever budget for a docu-series. Paul, as executive producer and director, is eagerly awaiting its release in late 2024.
