After 14 years, Sacha Baron Cohen revived his character Borat with the release of "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" in 2020. For the film's Amazon streaming launch, Cohen produced supplementary media, including "Borat’s American Lockdown," featuring Borat quarantined with two right-wing conspiracy theorists.
Concerned about promoting these viewpoints, Amazon sought a way to discredit the conspiracies presented. Paul was enlisted to create an engaging and informative motion graphics video, quickly writing a script and producing a minute-long video debunking the myth of tracking chips in vaccines. The success of this piece led to the production of a seven-episode docu-series, each episode addressing a different conspiracy, ranging from vaccines to voter fraud, culminating in a message from Hilary Clinton herself.
"Debunking Borat" was well-received, earning Paul a Writers Guild Award and showcasing how creativity and momentum can exceed a client's expectations.
